I know I have been slacking in the posting department lately, but we just recently got the internet at our new home (yay!), so give me some time for some fun pics. :) For an update: we moved in about two and a half weeks ago. It has been a TON of work (thanks to those who have helped paint and remodel), but very worth it. Lexi is almost four months old now and sleeping through the night! She started that a couple of days after we moved in here. I love this little girl. She will usually eat about 8 or 9 pm, then sleep until 7-8 am. Yay!! Kaden absolutely LOVES the new house (a lot more room to run around, plus a fenced in backyard that he can't get enough of...we need to get a swingset or something...). The most recent news is about poor Kaden. Monday morning he woke up with a temperature (don't ask me what it was because we don't have a thermometer that works). He got worse and worse throughout the day and wasn't eating and barely drinking. When Shane got home from work, Kaden was HOT. I took him into the doctor and his temperature was 105.1....yikes! They gave him Tylenol immediately and started running tests. The tests for strep throat and two different kinds of flu came back negative, so they sent us to the hospital for lab work. They took his blood and got some respiratory samples, then sent us home, but said to wait up in case the tests came back positive (in which case we would have to go back to the hospital immediately for an emergency shot of antibiotics). It was really late by this point, but we have some great friends who came over and helped Shane give Kaden a blessing. The hospital ended up calling an hour early (thankfully) and said that the test to see if it was a bacterial infection came back negative, so we could go to sleep, but the doctor wants to see him the next day to follow up on his temperature. He woke up Tuesday morning still REALLY hot, so I gave him Motrin immediately. That helped for about an hour, then he was back to not eating or drinking. I took him to the doctor again (but had given him Tylenol before this time so that they wouldn't freak out again) and his temperature was under 100 (YAY!). However, the doctor thought that the Tylenol was just helping the symptom (fever) and not curing anything since Kaden woke up really hot again. They ran yet more tests which came back negative. So, at this point we are waiting for a blood culture to come back (should be in later today) to see if it is a bacterial infection in his blood (in comes the emergency shot of antibiotics if it is). The doctor thinks it could be one of two things: 1) Roseola-which, according to
webmd.com, is:
"Roseola often starts with a sudden high fever [103 F to 105 F] that lasts 2 to 3 days, although it can last up to 8 days. The rapid increase in temperature may be the first sign of roseola and often occurs before you realize that your child has a fever. The fever ends suddenly. (still waiting for that to happen...)
After the fever ends, a rosy-pink rash may appear mostly on the trunk (torso), neck, and arms. The rash is not itchy and may last 1 to 2 days."
So we are waiting to see if a rash shows up in the next day or two. If it does, the doctor said to not come back in because we will know what it is, but there is nothing they can do about it. 2) Just a freak fever that goes away on it's own. So, we are just playing the waiting game right now. Kaden hasn't woken up yet for today, so I don't know if his fever has broken or not yet. Liz (Kelly's little girl) came over last night and she...well...she has a healthy appetite (even though she is TINY). While she was here, Kaden saw her eating and followed her example! He ate and drank more while she was here than he has in the last two days combined! Thanks Liz!! I will keep everyone updated whenever we find out new information. In the meantime, any prayers on Kaden's behalf would be appreciated.

Ah sad! Dax had roseola this summer, his fever only lasted 2-3 days then the rash I was sooo freaked out but apparently its so common that its no big deal, hopefully Kaden gets better soon`!
Sorry Kaden isn't feeling well. I totally forgot you were already in the house. CONGRATS! That is SO exciting!!
Did you find out what he has yet? Hopefully he is all better by now but we will keep him in our prayers. I'm glad Liz helped Kaden get his appetite back. She must like your food since she eats everything at your house.
