A week long celebration!

We had a great Christmas week and hope everyone else did as well. (P.S. I can't figure out how to turn off the stupid underlining and it is really bugging me....just so you know-I am not doing this on purpose). We had dinner the Sunday before Christmas with my mom and her husband, then on Christmas Eve, we went to Shane's parent's home for a yummy dinner and presents. On Christmas Day, we went to my dad and his wife's house, then to my grandparents house a bit later. Busy, busy, but so much fun! i haven't uploaded the pictures from my camera yet, but here are some that Shane's mom took and added little features to. Enjoy!

This was us at Thanksgiving...before little Lexi joined our family.

On Christmas Eve....Kelly let me borrow this adorable outfit she used for Liz last year (thanks!) and I found this matching one for Kaden at Wal-Mart. We tried so hard to get cute pictures of them in the outfits, but Kaden was sick and did NOT want to sit still-especially next to his sister.

He was much happier once the booties were off and he had his toys (the binky helps, too). :)

She loves her tongue! So cute...she was a week and five days old here-growing so fast!

Lexi (or Ali...haven't decided yet) was hungry and showed me by eating her hands. :D

Merry Christmas!!

We hope that everyone has a GREAT Christmas!! Can't wait to see all the fun pictures!

Introducing Alexandria Jo Porter!!

Well, as impatient as I was, Alexandria did decide to come (finally...) last Friday night. We went into the hospital about 4:00 pm because I was having regular contractions, but the nurse (whom we nicknamed Cruella) made us walk for an hour (yes, again! I was in severe pain the entire time) because she thought I was "going backwards" in my dilation and didn't believe I was really in labor. We did NOT like her at all. At 5:30 her replacement came and checked me and, surprise, surprise, I WAS in labor! They admitted me and started me on the Step B antibiotics. A while later I got an epidural, which successfully numbed my legs....and nothing else. I could feel the contractions VERY well, so the drug doctor gave me a stronger dose of the stuff to see if that helped. It didn't. (By this time my legs were completely useless from the stronger doses I got...haha). He redid the epidural and this time it worked wonderfully. :) I love drugs! It was looking like I would have Alex around 2 or 3 am, but then my midwife checked me close to 11:20 and said I was complete and it was time to push! After everything was set up, Kathy (my midwife) asked how many contractions it took to push Kaden out. I told her two. She said oh! ok, well the second baby usually takes half the time, so you only get one this time. She was totally joking, but I said ok! One contraction later (about 30 seconds) Alexandria Jo Porter was born at 11:29pm! (Please no one hate me if you pushed longer...it is just easy to me for some reason). She weighed 6 lbs. 5 oz and is 19 1/2 inches long!! SO BEAUTIFUL! She is a MUCH better nurser than Kaden was, which I LOVE. The first couple of days home were not so fun because I was severely engorged and in TONS of pain. Thank goodness for pumps...and sisters with nice ones (THANKS SUZ!). Anyway, last night and today have been great. Alex sleeps a lot (of course) and eats about every 2 1/2 hours during the day and about every 3 1/2 hours at night. Kaden was up every hour and a half, so I am LOVING Alex's schedule. :) Here are some fun pics! Sorry it took so long to update the blog everyone!

Finally admitted! Give me the drugs!
Check out that cute little cone head

6 lbs 5 oz and 19 1/2 inches long!!

The wonderful Kathy Mark, my midwife

Shane was asleep when I was about to start pushing...it took 3 nurses to wake him up...lol

Introducing Kaden and Alexandria....how will he react?

Um, no thanks! He just kept gently pushing her away...he still just completely ignores her.

The happy family!

Proud papa-Shane is SO protective of her.

Kaden found a fun hiding place at the hospital-he was loving this closet.

Alexandria's take home outfit....it is a newborn size, but still swallows her whole.

Her first car ride!

You have GOT to be kidding me!!!

This post may contain way TMI for some of you, so feel free to skip it if you don't like pregnancy talk. :) Everyone is astounded that I have made it this far along. This last Monday, I started having really bad constant lower back pain. After a couple of hours of this, I couldn't handle it anymore and tried calling the hospital to see what the nurses there thought I should do. Well, lucky me, it was after hours so no one answered! I called my midwife, Kathy, but she didn't answer (I found out later she was delivering....). So, next I consulted with those experts who have had kids before me (meaning my friends and sisters) who all said it was time to go in. One, who will remain nameless, even scared the crap out of me by saying that her friends who have had that pain in the back ignored it, then when they finally went in, they were dilated to an 8 and had the baby very shortly after!! I was a bit panicked and Shane wasn't doing any better than me (although he was more excited, I think). Anyway, to make a long story short, we went in to labor and delivery (L&D) where they said I was dilated to a 4 and 70% effaced. They talked to my midwife who said to have me walk around McKay Dee for an HOUR and see if any progress happens. Shane and I walked and walked and walked...if you ever need help finding anything at McKay, call us and we can point you in the right direction. :) We went back to L&D where now I was still a 4 and 70%, BUT my water was "bulging." For this reason alone, they kept us another hour so they could monitor my now stronger contractions and make sure my water didn't break on the way home. An hour later, no change, so they sent me home, but kept saying that I would be back later that night or the next day because there was NO WAY I would make it to my next doctor's appointment on Wednesday. (big, sarcastic eye roll here) SO, at my appointment on Wednesday (the one that there was NO WAY I would make it to...) my midwife was shocked to see me and said that she was sure I would have delivered on Monday. She told me that she would strip my membranes, though, to help things along. I thought, "GREAT!" then, "Crap! I have heard that kills!" I didn't care, though, because I am SO done with being a whale. Kathy came in and checked me and said that I am now dilated to a 5 and 70% effaced--still with my water bulging!! She had no idea why I was not having contractions and/or my water hadn't broken yet. I asked if she was still going to strip my membranes and she said that she can't now because I am at a 5!! (I think she explained it was because I am Strep B positive with this pregnancy and it is illegal for her to do anything she KNOWS would break my water before 39 weeks or she could have her license suspended for a month....). LAME! She was absolutely positive that my water would break as she was stripping my membranes (eww! she said it wouldn't be the first time it has happened on her, though). So, she told me to hang in there and she will be surprised if I make it to my inducement date next Wednesday. WELL, it is now FRIDAY and NOTHING IS HAPPENING!! My mom asked me what is keeping the baby in...lol. I don't know!! Shane, by the way, has been anxious through all of this (to say the least). He calls me every hour (no joke) from work asking if my contractions have started or my water broken yet. Apparently he thinks I will forget to call him....lol. He also has been making me do everything possible to induce labor (none of which work)....this morning he made me jump on our mini-trampoline for 5 minutes-trying to make my water break from the force! :D Men... So, that is the latest update on me. At this point, it feels hopeless and I will just have to wait until next Wednesday to be induced. I am most worried that I will not have time to make it to the hospital and get an epidural before Alexandria makes her big debut. I NEED DRUGS!! My midwife told me to call her the MINUTE my water breaks so that she can meet me at the hospital or else she might not make it in time for the delivery. All along I have actually wanted Alexandria to come tomorrow (12/13/08), and maybe now I will see that she was listening to me! :) Any ideas for inducing labor (besides the usual: walking, sex, feet rubs, back rubs.....)??

Time flies....

So, it's been a long semester, but I survived! I thought it was about time to do a post on the most recent things that have been happening that I have neglected. Since I have pregnancy brain, this won't go too far back...lol. Starting with Thanksgiving:
We had a fun Thanksgiving full of turkey and pie (and eclairs! yum!). We celebrated Thanksgiving with my dad the Sunday before, which helped to space out the turkey hangovers a bit. :) Thanksgiving day we went to Shane's parent's house first (it was also a combined celebration of Shane's dad's 50th birthday the next day!! Woo! Half a century!) Kaden had his very first 4-wheeler ride! He was sick and it was freezing, so he didn't have the best time. He did keep reaching for the handlebars, so hopefully that means when it warms up he will be more open to going again.
After some DELICIOUS eclairs (I seriously LOVE those things!), we headed to my mom's house for some more yummy, moist turkey! Kaden enjoyed playing with his cousin, Taliyah, probably because she is the smaller than him and not mobile yet (close, though!). She is so photogenic (sp?) and loves to smile for the camera, so we got a lot of adorable pictures of her.
That is, when Kaden wasn't running in front of her to steal her spotlight, anyway.
It was a great Thanksgiving!
Lately Kaden enjoys putting things in boxes, bags, or anything else he can. The other day he took every toy out of his toy bin and then grabbed Puppy (of course) and a book and decided to relax in the toy bin! So I grabbed the camera...hahaha.
We have also stolen Liz to come play and she decided to get into the whole "let's see what we can sit in" thing, too. :D
Partners in crime...Liz enjoyed the toy bin, too.
I absolutely love Liz's face in this picture! It makes me laugh so hard. Kaden was excited about whatever movie we had on and apparently Liz didn't like the flash on the camera. lol

Liz's favorite spot in the apartment.
Kaden has also decided recently to see just how much food he can stuff into his mouth before gagging. Wonderful, right? Not! But it does make for some funny pictures!
This is a half of a cookie he got in his mouth....drooled all over poor Stephanie. haha Just prepping her for future kids.

I was trying to take a cute picture with Kaden and didn't realize he found the Nilla Wafers right before. I was laughing when I reviewed pictures a little later and saw this one. hahaha

That is what has been happening the last couple of weeks. Hopefully my water breaks soon and my next post is welcoming baby Alexandria! Woo!

Tagged by Jamee!

5 things that you love about your baby!!!

(Sorry it took me forever Jamee! Thanks for the fun tag!)

1) I love that Kaden looks so much like Shane and everyone notices! Their little facial expressions are the same and it is SO cute watching them play together. Kaden LOVES it when daddy comes home and roughhouses the way only fathers can do to their kids. :)

2) I love that Kaden is such a happy kid. He has been a happy baby from day one (which is the reason I was open to having one more kid....). Except when he is teething or sick, Kaden always has a smile on and some story to tell everyone and anyone who will listen. He loves to "talk," especially when he gets responses (my favorite to use is "really?!"...that one keeps him talking for a while).

3) I love that Kaden is a cuddly baby. He loves to cuddle in the morning with me and at night before bed with daddy. It is part of the nighttime routine (to watch signing times and cuddle with daddy).

4) I love that I have the cutest kid in the world! Who knew that something so stinkin' cute could come out of ME?! Although, remember, almost everyone says he looks exactly like Shane. lol

5) I was scared to death to be a first time mom, but now I love that I never have to give Kaden back to anyone at the end of the day. He's mine! I thought it would be so hard, and while motherhood is not always the easiest, Kaden's smiles, hugs, and kisses make it all worthwhile.

I tag Kelly, Megan and Steph Jorgensen!

The results are in!

So, for those of you who voted on Alex's middle name, thank you! We ended up getting 18 votes...5 against Jo and 13 lovin' it. :) We haven't officially decided on a middle name (according to Shane, but I would bet that Jo will be it). I will let everyone know when Shane, er, um, I mean, WE decide what Alex's middle name is. It will probably be as I am in labor that it is decided. :)

Not happening again...

I am now 36 weeks along! So, Alexandria would be scheduled to come next Friday if she comes exactly as early as Kaden. Ahhh! I had a doctor's appt. today and was "checked." The doc said that not much is happening, which is kind of good for me right now. I told her (the doc) that I can't have this baby for another week so that I can finish finals. She laughed and told me I should focus on relaxing more, then. :) I have been thinking a lot lately about when Kaden was a newborn and remembered some 1st time mommy mistakes that I won't be making again:
I will not:
~spend the first week home from the hospital sleeping with Alex on the couch thinking that if I don't, she will die. I actually didn't really sleep.....but Kaden did!
~have the monitor base literally right next to Alex's face with the monitor on when she is in the bassinet, a foot away from my bed.
~feel guilty for using binkys (if she will take them). The nurses at the hospital gave Kaden a whole bunch on our last day there and he has been hooked ever since (which is SO nice most of the time), but other people told me that you are not supposed to start the binky stage until after at least a month. Whatever! I am the mom and I know best. :)
~take Alex EVERYWHERE with me. She will survive for 2 minutes in her bassinet or swing while I go to the bathroom. I would seriously bring Kaden in the bathroom and set him on the floor at 2AM because I was worried he would gag and die and Shane wouldn't hear him.
~do dishes, laundry, or vaccuuming one handed. Alex will not die from sitting in her swing while I get things around the house done.
I think that was my main mistake: thinking that at any point Kaden was going to drop dead because I wasn't holding him. Good intentions, but a lot more lost sleep than needed to be. I will try and keep everyone updated as the time draws nearer. I have taken 2 finals and only 3 more to go! Then, I can properly update this blog with cute Kaden pictures. Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow everyone!

One more...

So, I thought of one more really weird quirk that I had to post because I know people will think of me as a little bit more crazy afterwards. :) Ever since I can remember, I LOVE crunching things between my teeth. It started with the sand in the sandbox at the school playground (yes I totally remember eating a little bit of sand on purpose when I was about 7 or 8, just to get that crunchy feeling between my teeth-sick, I know). I LOVE eating raw noodles. Shane usually has to hide the Mac-N-Cheese box once it is open or else there won't be any to cook after the water boils! I also love spaghetti noodles raw or just cooked a little bit with no sauce. Ramen is great raw, too. YUMMY! I have always been obsessed with ice as well and told Shane when I was pregnant with Kaden that I was having an ice chewing craving so anytime we drove by Wendy's or MacDonalds, we had to stop and ask for a huge cup of ice for me. :D Totally not a pregnancy craving, but don't tell Shane that-I am working that angle again with this baby. ;) By the way, I have been watching my pregnancy countdown gadget thing on the side and it says only 36 days left!!!! Ahh!! That means even less than that because even if I don't go early like with Kaden, then I am still set to be induced on the 18th! If I go as early as I did with Kaden, I only have 2 weeks from this Friday until I go! Help! I am freaking out and trying to concentrate on my schoolwork, but it's not happening. I haven't even had time to properly nest yet!

Quirks!

Here are the rules:
1. Link the person who tagged you...love ya Kim!
2. Mention the rules on your blog.
3. Tell about 6 quirks of yours.
4. Tag 6 fellow bloggers to do the same.
5. Leave a comment to let them know.

1) I am totally OCD with dishes and laundry. Ever since we were first married, Shane tries to help with the housework. BUT since I am stubborn and have to have things done my way, he never gets to help. Lately, I have been getting behind in the housework (school, kid, work, and a bun in the oven...) and one day I came home from school and Shane (being the sweetheart he is) had done ALL of the dishes. Well, he hand washes everything and so (don't tell him this if you see him) the next day I rewashed EVERY dish we have (but in the dishwasher). So, I have learned to just take 10 minutes out of my days and get stuff done because having to redo everything after Shane does it, takes a lot longer than just doing it in the first place. Yes, I am weird about this....Shane does a great job washing the dishes, but if I don't see it done, then (in my mind) the dishes are not cleaned right.
2) My closet is ultra organized-as in, I have been made fun of by relief society presidents who have heard about it. I hang everything up and it has to be in order or I can't sleep until it is. Pants first-and it has to go pajama bottoms, capris, then long pants. And even in those categories, it has to go from workout pants to jeans to nice dress pants. My shirts are even worse. Nice ones are in front of the t-shirts and they have to be short to 3/4 sleeve to long sleeve. And, to top it all off, everything is color coordinated. It's obsessive-I know. And I have done this to Shane's side of the closet, too. He hates it, but after 3 1/2 years of marriage, he has accepted that this is the way things are and doesn't complain anymore. :)
3) Shane and I have never had a huge, blowout arguement. Sure, we don't always agree on things, but we always sit down and work it out before it grows into something bigger. We have taken communication and marriage classes together at Weber State and I think it has helped us immensely. I have a friend (who will remain nameless) who used to tell her husband to be more understanding like Shane...lol. He would just brush it off and tell Shane to get mad at me once in a while so that he looked like a better husband. haha
4) In high school, I couldn't have cared less about my grades. I hated every minute of school, except when I was in drama or choir classes. The only reason I kept my GPA about a 3.0 was so I could drive the family car. College, however, is a different story. I have been going 2 years now and have kept my GPA at a 3.96. I do everything possible to get A's. I am sure I bug my teachers because I am constantly emailing and talking to them asking what my progress is and if I need extra credit or if I already have an A. Usually I hear, "Loretta, you are fine. Don't worry about your grade." Then I say, "So, does or does that not mean that I have an A?" Anyway, I am sure this semester will bring my GPA down because of my stupid Human Biology class. It is HARD and everyone in the class is struggling-not just me. I have come to terms this last semester with the fact that I won't be keeping my GPA at 3.96...I think I am okay with that, as long as I pass this class.
5) I always have to be the one to put Kaden in his crib at night for bedtime. It may be selfish of me, but that is my last time of the day with him and I feel like he has to hear me tell him goodnight and I love him. I am trying to let Shane take over more of the "Kaden Responsiblities," in preparing for Alexandria to join us soon, but I just love cuddling Kaden at night and smothering him with kisses.
6) I feel SO gross until I brush my teeth for the day. I won't see or especially talk to anyone until I have clean teeth and breath. This rule applies to Shane, too. I refuse to kiss him or let him breathe near my face until he eats breakfast and brushes his teeth. I am constantly worried about my breath, so if you ever tell me to pop in a Tic Tac, I will not be offended-just grateful you pointed it out before I disgusted too many people with my nasty breath. :)

Ok, I tag Jamee, Suzanna, DeeDee, Hill, M and Kelly (sorry if I always tag the same people-I am just interested in what quirks y'all could possibly have...).

Ideas??

Ok, so I am enlisting everyone's help (meaning the two of you that read this...) in naming my child. Kind of....her first name will be Alexandria-that is not up for discussion, but we have NO idea what to do for a middle name! HELP! I really like Jo (then she could be Lexie Jo, or AJ, or whatever...), but Shane says "Jo" is a boy's name. Ugh! Men! So, we need some more ideas. Or do you think Jo is cute? I think it needs to be something short since Alexandria is so freaking long, right? Shane really likes my middle name and would love to be able to pass that down to Alex, but Yvette (pronounced E-vett), just doesn't go with Alexandria. Poor Shane-he has been trying to think of ways to convince me that Alexandria Yvette sounds SO good, but I know better. ;) Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated! I will try and put up a voter thingy, too, to see if others like Jo as much as me. Then, Shane can just suck it up and realize Jo is a cute, GIRLY middle name. :D

Halloween fun

We had such a great Halloween week! We started off the week by carving pumpkins with Scott, Kelly and Liz. Liz enjoyed eating the pumpkin more than carving it... :) On Halloween, I took Kaden to Shane's work for a Trick-or-Treat that they have every year. The company provides the candy and the spouses bring the kiddos and go office to office getting lots of candy! Kaden wasn't in the best mood because he had only slept 20 minutes when I had to wake him up to go. So, he just cuddled with Shane the whole time we went around (although, everyone still thought he was so stinkin' cute). :D I worked ALL week with Kaden to be more open to the idea of wearing a head piece thing that was part of his costume, but he never wore it for more than a half of a second. Luckily, he was so tired at Shane's work...he wore it! He didn't let us tie it, but hey, I will take what I can get and it stayed on. :) YAY! Then, Halloween night, we went to Danny and Stephanie's house and trick-or-treated around their neighborhood for a bit. Kelly and Liz came, too, which was so fun because Liz's costume was pretty much the cutest thing you will ever see. I don't have any good pictures of it, but Stephanie took some with her good camera so as soon as she emails those to me, I will post them. Liz was Dorothy and Kaden was the Cowardly Lion and Kelly was the Wicked Witch! Danny took Kaden door to door in the neighborhood because with it being so dark, we were pretty sure Shane would have tripped over something and hurt himself and/or Kaden. :) After the trick-or-treating, we went back to Danny and Stephanie's home and ate a YUMMY dinner (ribs, DANG good potatoes, salad, french bread...what more can a pregnant woman want?!). It was a fun night and Kaden has enjoyed eating his bucketful of candy. Of course, Shane and I have graciously sacrificed and eaten the things Kaden can't (anything with nuts...snickers, baby ruth, etc.). Enjoy the pictures! Hope everyone had a great Halloween!

Everyone hard at work carving their masterpieces...

Liz chowin' down on her raw pumpkin.

Kaden not caring at all what we were up to...he was just interested in The Lion King.

TA DA! The finished products!!

Shane andI both agreed that Scott and Kelly's pumpkins were the best-so creative and cute!

Kaden and Daddy Trick-Or-Treating at the office. Notice Puppy always at Kaden's side..haha. Kaden was really interested in these two dogs that were there and dressed up. He couldn't figure out what a pumpkin dog was! haha
Going Trick-Or-Treating for the first time! That wicked witch is Kelly and Liz is hiding, but she looked ADORABLE!

Sharing is caring

So, I am now convinced I have the World's Greatest Kid. I have been sick the last few days with a cold (when you are preggo, everything knocks you down harder than normal...). Yesterday, I was letting Kaden watch Elmo's World (his favorite...this week) while I rested on the couch. I was laying down and had closed my eyes when about two minutes later I felt a little hand on my arm. I opened my eyes and saw Kaden staring at me. He put Puppy next to me, smiled and walked off!! For those of you who haven't read previous posts about Puppy, Puppy is Kaden's all time favorite toy and he does NOT share him with ANY other kids. Puppy goes everywhere with Kaden and he will not sleep without him. It is always cute when we see Kaden talking to Puppy in his crib in the morning or after a nap and also when Kaden "reads" to Puppy. Anyway, this gesture meant so much to me-knowing how protective Kaden is of Puppy. I have lots of pictures to update on as well, but that will have to wait another day or two until school stuff calms down a bit. :) For now, enjoy my story of my oh so giving little man.

Talk about your dumb blonde moments...

So, even though I posted a buttload of cute pictures in my last post, I didn't get nearly as many comments on it as I did on my embarrassing story post! I am surprised by this, but I guess if people like random, embarrassing stories...I've got a ton of 'em! So, here's another one and I SWEAR it is true: So, in the Spring of 2006, Shane and I had been married for about a year. I should explain that I was taking three English classes that semester (and aceing them all-I know, I suck) plus a random one I can't remember. I had finished working out at the school gym one day and went to the testing center to take a test last minute I had spaced (of course). As I was walking in, this guy with hair like Heath Ledger in A Knight's Tale walked up to me and started talking to me. I thought he looked vaguely familiar and he started asking questions about a quiz. The conversation went like this (I will call him Heath...):
Heath: So, how did you do on that last quiz?
Me: (totally faking like I knew what he was talking about, but having NO clue whatsoever) Uh..okay I guess. (which was a total lie, but he didn't need to know I aced all my English tests...)
Heath: Oh sweet, well, so, I was wondering if I could get your number?
(At this point I remember him from one of my English classes and realize he knows how well I do in the class and is asking for my number to get tutoring from me...)
Me: Yeah, sure, no problem. It's (insert my old cell # here-I don't remember it).
Heath: Okay thanks. So....I guess I'll see you in class tomorrow, huh?
Me: Yup! See you then! (With way too much enthusiasm)
After this scene, I go take my test and then go home to Shane. I tell him what happened with Heath at the Testing Center. That is when this conversation took place:
Shane: (Not at all mad-trying not to laugh, actually) You gave him your number?!?! You're MARRIED!
Me: (Very confused) Well, yeah, but it's okay because he just needs help in the class.
Shane: (laughing....hard) Loretta--he was HITTING ON YOU!! (more hysterical laughter)
Me: (unbelieving) Whatever-no he wasn't! I looked AND smelled like I just came from the gym-plus I had my ring on! He really just needs help with English!
Shane: (still, of course, laughing) Um, maybe you haven't realized, but guys aren't always the most observant...he probably didn't see your ring. He was hitting on you!
Me: (panicky) Are you kidding me?! You can't be serious!! Why would he do that?! I looked so gross!
Shane: (very amused) Apparently not.
Me: CRAP! What do I do if he calls?!
Shane: Uh-tell him you are married!
Needless to say, Shane made fun of me for the rest of the night (and still does if this is brought up). Luckily, Heath never called that night. The next day in class, I made sure to talk VERY loudly to the girl next to me (after Heath came in and sat in front of me) about my wedding anniversary and the plans Shane and I had for that. Thankfully, Heath never even looked at me again.
P.S. In my own defense, this was my first time (in my life) being hit on. Seriously! Ask anyone I went to high school with-I was always the one making the first move with guys so I had NO clue what it was like to be hit on. And an update-I haven't given my number out to any other guys since then!

Photo catch up

Here are a TON of pictures from our long lost camera....enjoy! These are from the last few summer months.

Kaden "swimming" at his swimming lessons with his teacher
Even though he was a great floater, Kaden hated it. His teacher kept trying everything to get him to stop crying, but he was determined to let her know how mad he was. haha
This is at the Roy Aquatic Center. We went with Kelly, Suzanna and their girls: Liz and McKayla.
Isn't Liz so cute in her sunglasses?! Kaden was, of course, freezing after ten minutes even though it was like 90 degrees outside...wimp...lol.

I tend to steal Liz to come play because Kaden behaves SO much better with her around. He is a show off with her. Liz's cute facesI kept trying to get a shot of both of them looking at the camera, but Kaden was way too interested in Tarzan.
This was at our camping trip! The adorable Logan LOVED getting his picture taken.
The gang...preggo Kenzie cooking in the background, preggo Yuki chowin' down on the yummy corn on the cob, Josiah taking Kai away from something hazardous he was getting into....lol
Chad munchin' away at his corn on the cob...I think he had like 4 of 'em-haha Logan, once again, loving the camera.
Kai the cutie
Kaden used to love crawling around with either a spoon or a straw in his mouth, but it had to be mostly poking out like this...haha. So dangerous-I am glad he got over that stage when he started walking.
This past weekend it snowed like crazy-this was Kaden's first real experience with snow that he remembers. He really didn't enjoy it-obviously. :)
So, Shane, being the great hubby he is, bought his pregnant, craving wife a deep fryer (it steams, too!) so we could make homemade fries. I had never done this before, so here was my first go at it. Here the potatoes are cookin'. I was so impatient and kept checking it every 30 seconds.
The first batch is done! We forced poor Kelly to come try them (so I could get a non-biased point of view). She seemed to enjoy them, but then again, she likes peppers and tomatoes so her taste buds are probably warped.....lol.
