5th anniversary!

Five years ago today I married the love of my life (and my forever). We have gone through so much together these last years, both good and bad, but I couldn't think of anyone else I would rather face life's ups and downs with. We were both there for each other in the horrible first year after our wedding when my parents got divorced and his left the church. Those experiences brought us closer than anything could. It has been heavenly since then, though, with the birth of our first child, Kaden, in 2007, and following close behind in 2008, Alexandria. We bought our first home together a year ago and it has been fun watching Shane learn so much about fixing things around the home. He's a regular handyman now! I love you, Shane and will always love you forever. MWAH!

This was taken over General Conference weekend about a month after we met. This was the first time Shane held my hand (yes, a month later....chicken). And see that bruise covering my upper left arm? You can click on the photo to enlarge it. Shane did that the day before. We were on a jet ski up at Pineview Res. and he kept making it JUMP and then we would slam back down. I was holding on extremely tight to the steering thingy and, after being repeatedly slammed against it, got that huge bruise. :) Shane felt awful. He said, "I heard you saying OW! STOP! but I thought you were just scared." Glad to know he doesn't stop "just because" I'm scared.... ;)

Shane proposed on Christmas Eve (and no, I had absolutely ZERO idea that it was coming, so it took him about ten minutes to convince me he was serious....the ring and being down on one knee wasn't enough, it was when I saw how hard he was shaking that finally convinced me...haha). We left about 3 days later with his family for Disneyland!!! When we got there, we had a right place, right time moment and were the first in line to see Minnie. We told her we had just gotten engaged. She freaked out and hugged us both, then drug us across the plaza to where Mickey had a LONG line of admirers waiting and she cut in front of everyone to let us get a rare picture with both of them! It was absolutely amazing and a memory that we will never forget.
(After we had done pictures with them and they did some silly antics, Minnie went back to her spot on the other side. People were so disappointed that they couldn't get a picture with both.) :) I love Disneyland!

March 15, 2005 Can I just say how much I loved my train?! It was super long and perfect. I actually loved my dress all around and as soon as I can fit into it again, I will totally be wearing it around the house to vacuum. :)

For our honeymoon, we went on a cruise to Ensenada, Mexico. It was lots and lots of fun! I got really sick, though, from something I ate there and spent the entire week after the cruise puking my guts out. I think that is the last time I have thrown up. Anyway, I suggest everyone go on a cruise at some point in their lives. We have gone on a total of two now and I think eating double your weight in good food is the highlight. haha :)

Isn't it amazing everything that can happen in 5 years. :) You guys really are perfect for each other. I thought it was so cute at Twilight that Shane still had to sit next to you. CUTE CUTE.

I should totally take that idea of vacuuming in my wedding dress. Hahaha, to see the look on your husbands face - has my wife gone bazerk? It would make the effort all worth it. Happy happy anniversary! You guys are amazing!
