Even more backtracking....

This is my 3rd post of the day (trying so hard to catch up), so keep on reading if you missed the first two. I am just going to post a bunch of random pics in this one, so enjoy!

My very first garden!! My amazing friend Kelly inspired me to start one this year, but I don't think she realized that I honestly do kill everything green that comes within 100 feet of me. Even our grass is dying people! So, needless to say, I didn't have high expectations of anything growing when I randomly threw a bunch of seeds in the ground. I'm not gonna lie...I haven't done much except putting the seeds in the dirt. My dad came over and used his tiller for TWO HOURS (he refused any help even though Shane kept offering over and over).

Holy cow! Something grew!!! My dad came over about a month after I planted and said we might want to weed (oops...haha) and that my garden needed to be thinner (what in my life doesn't?). So, we pulled out the green stuff that actually had the guts to grow in my garden.

I think it looks so sad now. A bit like Charlie Brown's Christmas tree. Poor thing.

Kaden's friend Halle had her 3rd birthday party in June. Like a total goober, I forgot there would be a couple of pools there and didn't bring a swimming suit or a swim diaper for him.

So, he ran around in a little mermaid swim diaper. Haha Thanks for saving the day, M.

Kaden LOVES cars! He is so cute because he makes sure to park them when he leaves them. They always have to be right next to each other and all of them facing the right way.

The other day I told Kaden "ok bud, park your cars, it's time for a nap!" He parked his cars, while I grabbed his puppy. then he walked in front of me to his room and got in bed. He sat down on the bed, I handed him his puppy and gave him a kiss, then he layed down and went to sleep!! I was in shock! He did the same thing last night, too. After family prayers, I said, "it's time to go nigh-night." He grabbed Puppy, and went to bed. Holy cow! Who's raising this well behaved child?!

I was doing dishes the other day and set Lexi up with some toys to keep her happy. It got really quiet, so I went in to check on her. This is what I found...

How stinkin' cute is that?!

Of course, neither of them would look at me when I tried to get a cute shot from the front, but I still think I have some pretty great kids. :)

Ok, I am done blogging for today. We had a WAY fun weekend though, so I will blog about that tomorrow.

More backtracking...

In an effort to catch up, this is my second post of the day (so keep on reading after this if you missed it). With the HOT weather comes....well, heat. (Brilliant, I know, I know) I normally don't mind summer that much, but our new home doesn't have A/C...or a swamp cooler. The average temperature in our house (when the weather is 95-100 degrees outside) is 90-95 degrees. It is horrible! I absolutely HATE it and can't wait for the fall! So, with the horrible heat, the kiddos have been spending more naked time! They both totally love it since I usually don't let them just run around in diapers (or sit around in Lexi's case).

We do have a couple of fans around the house and both the kids like sitting in front of them....naked. haha (That fan is going, you just can't tell from the picture-weird).

What is it with kids and being naked?

Crap-Lexi got her mom's skin. Her very first sunburn. *Sniff*

Lexi likes to play cars with her big brother.

This is Lexi's favorite position and is constantly grabbing her feet.

Kaden getting in on the semi-nakedness. It was hard to get him into pajamas later. :)

Backtracking...

Ok, so I thought that I had been doing well at keeping up on my blogging, but I looked back over the last few posts and realized I have forgotten a couple of fun things to post! Some good friends of ours came in June for a weekend and stayed with us (since we always crash at their house....it's our turn to host..haha). Well, the hubby (Chad) didn't come since he was running the Wasatch Back Relay, but that's okay since I got to see Kenzie and their two kids! Shane was sad to miss out on seeing Chad, but whatev. Boys don't need social time like girls. :D We went to the Treehouse Museum with the kiddos. Kaden had never been there and LOVED it!! After two hours (and an hour late for nap time) we couldn't pry him away with a crowbar. His favorites were the music room and the train station.

The oh-so-adorable Logan! Hanging onto his mom's I-can't-believe-she-had-a-baby-more-recently-than-me-it's-so-not-fair-she's-so-skinny leg.

Kaden enjoying the music room. Everything is childproof so it is a no stress place for both parent's and kids!

Kaden checking the other kids out. He learns best from watching other kids.

Putting the stick thing back. Kaden is very good at putting things back where they belong.....except at home.

There was this great area for babies. Lexi loved the mirror (especially with Kenzie cooing at her), but Gaines only had eyes for Lexi. LOL

So handsome! (Even if he does look like his dad....totally kidding Chad! Don't hate me! haha)

This isn't a very good comparison, but we were laughing because Gaines is 6 weeks younger than Lexi, but about 5 or 6 inches taller (not lying at all!)

After nap time and Lexi's physical therapy appointment (she has a really, really tight neck muscle that we need to fix), we had Cafe Rio and Fondue Friday!
You like how Kaden is sneaking some? He was doing that in EVERY. SINGLE. PICTURE. I thought it was hilarious!
More of our friends (the Meyer's) joined us for the fondue, although we still had a buttload (yes I just said that) left over. Lindsay's little baby girl, Ellie, is 3 months old and SERIOUSLY GORGEOUS! She is the same height and weight as Lexi-who was 6 months old at the time (Lexi eats like a pig people, I don't get it...). Also, Ellie's feet were longer than Lexi's, but Lexi's feet were fatter! That's my girl!

All three cute, cute, CUTE babies!

It was impossible to get them all looking at the same place at the same time, let alone trying to get them all to smile at the same time!

Cheap-o

There's one in every relationship. Someone is the spender (ME!) and someone is the saver (SO Shane). Unfortunately, Shane has rubbed off on me a bit in the last 4 1/2 years and I am an awesome bargain shopper! So, I still get to spend my little heart out, but I get a lot more by being cheap thrifty. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Thrifty Decor Chick (check her out here) and this project was inspired by something she did. She did it to a wall board thingy and I did it to picture frames! (M, if you are reading this, PLEASE don't hate me for being cheap with Halle's presents! It's Shane's fault!) I saw these frames at Macey's (grocery store-not department store) on sale for $0.89. Yup-it was like a 75% discount!!
I bought two. They started out like this:

Not too bad, but I knew I could do better.

I went and bought some scrapbook paper (also on sale for $0.16/sheet-score!). Put that together with some Mod Podge (I have never used it before, but I hope I did it right), hot glue, and foam sticky stuff that makes letters (or whatever) pop up a bit (I am so technical...I know, I know) and you get these personalized beauties:

Oh, also, I had my aunt's Cricut machine (which I am in love with and told her she will be lucky to get it back) which is how I did the letters for the Mickey Mouse stuff and Halle's name. I couldn't stand being THAT cheap for birthday presents, though, so I ended up getting some earrings for her as well (which were also on sale, so I still felt cheap), so I also made some bows! Yay for smart shopping!!

Fourth Fun!

I have a lot to catch up on before the 4th, but I thought I might as well do a 4th of July post while it is still July, then catch up the other stuff in the next week or so. :) We had a fun day, starting out with a HUGE breakfast provided by our cute bishopric's wives wonderful bishopric.
Shane's man-arm is blocking the eggy/pancakey goodness, but-trust me-it's there.

This is Kaden repeating what I just said (with his usual added pointed finger), which was "Stay here."

He's a great listener...

We went to the West Point parade and I was afraid Lexi would sleep through the whole thing.

The fire engines took care of that.

My boys bringing the chairs

I love the expression on Kaden's face, "What the ??"

Guess who's having more fun? (Hint:her name starts with L...haha)

Only in Utah.....

Apparently Kaden looked like a rebel. The Elders made sure he knew about Jesus.

Kaden has never seen a tractor before-he couldn't take his eyes off of them.

Kaden got a sucker.....from a dentist. Maybe he was trying to get more business?

Kaden had to sample the goodies. When your kids are extra cute, people tend to throw you more candy. SA-WEET! Which, of course, "Kaden" *wink, wink* ate all of.

I was so happy he got the concept of picking up the candy this year! He didn't care last year (since he was 10 months old).

Putting it in the bag.

You can never have too many samples

He did NOT know what to think about these huge trucks

After the parade, the kiddos took their naps and I went and helped my friend Livia with her booth for the Morgan fair. Lots of fun and not too hot! When I got home, we went up to Shane's parent's house for BBQ and fireworks.

Doesn't she just look A-DOR-A-BLE in her cute outfit and bow?!

We tried so hard to get them both in a picture-smiling. It was harder than labor...seriously.

Kaden has never gotten to see fireworks up close and personal. He loves the monster snap thingys, but wasn't too sure of the other things that made noises and lit up.

Ugh-please ignore me in this pic and focus on Kaden's expression. I laugh every time I see this picture.

Nervous about the close up fireworks.

Yeah-THIS is what he was scared of. A 20 cent flower thing that lasted 2 seconds (if we were lucky). I bought 8 of 'em, so he enjoyed them more by the 8th one.

Lexi didn't enjoy the fireworks.

From Shane's parent's house, you can see the whole valley and a lot of different cities' fireworks. They all seem extremely small. I like the feeling of them covering the whole sky above you, so we will take Kaden to Weber State's pioneer days fireworks in a couple of weeks so that he can have the full experience. :) It was a great 4th and I can't wait for next year when Lexi will be able to join in on the parade/candy action!
