True story...true story

*If you missed my BIG 100th post or are having trouble sleeping, click here.*
We moved into our house this past March. Since then I haven't mopped at all have mopped every week. Well, Kaden was pretty sick this past week, so we had a LOT of soda (NOT pop-it's called SODA) around the house. Shane decided to sneak some and in the process spilled it all over the kitchen floor. I told him that he needed to clean it up and....he did. Like a man. He grabbed a huge handful of paper towels, threw them on Sprite lake, and walked away. Seriously. He didn't even pick them up and throw them away. Sometimes you can catch me singing songs from Cinderella throughout the day. The next day, Kaden decided the floor needed some red color to it. That's right-he spilled fruit punch flavored Gatorade ALL. OVER. my clean floor. This is why I never always mop like I should.

The BIG 100!

This is my 100th post! Woo! To celebrate, I thought I would list 100 random things about ME! Haha-totally kidding-please keep reading. I don't have 100 interesting things about me. SO, I decided to write 100 (short-I promise!) random things about Kaden and Lexi. I will throw in some about Shane and I...just to keep mixing things up. :) Here ya go!

1) Kaden was born Sept. 10, 2007 (so, 9/10/07). I thought it would be awesome to have Lexi on Dec. 13, 2008 (12/13/08) and stick with the continuous numbers thing. She decided to come on 12/12 at 11:29 PM instead, though. (SO CLOSE!) I think 12/12 is still pretty cool, though, right?
2) We decided on Kaden's name (Kaden Shane) on July 4th. I decided on Alexandria's name a year before I met Shane.
3) Kaden is a cuddle bug! I love it! And a momma's boy (which I also love, but Shane gets jealous and wants Kaden to be a daddy's boy...haha).
4) Lexi is ALWAYS happy. Seriously-even during shots she smiles at the mean nurses. When she got her ears pierced, she was sad for all of ten seconds, then pasted that gorgeous smile back on. :D
5) Kaden was 6 lbs. 9 oz. and 19 inches. Lexi was 6 lbs. 5 oz. and 19 1/2 inches. In all fairness, though, she did cook a week and a half longer than her big brother.
6) Kaden's favorite shows (this week) are Cars and Finding Nemo. I don't mind these new obsessions at all!
7) Lexi is getting a touch of stranger anxiety. This is weird for me because Kaden never went through that and I am not sure what to do. So, I just shove her into the arms of different people at church or when friends come over. :)
8) Kaden will be a great dad someday. He has endless amounts of patience with babies.
9) All that Kaden eats is oatmeal, granola bars, brownies, cereal, and occasionally a half of a chicken nugget. Seriously, it is a good day when I can get him to eat an entire chicken nugget with a couple of fries.
10) If you ask Shane or I how we met, we will both very grudgingly tell you "single's ward activity." This is because we both swore we would never, ever meet our significant others at a church function.
11) Both Shane and I are right handed. (I know so many of you have been dying to know.)
12) I hate math with a passion. Shane loves it. I love English with all my heart. Shane hates it with all of his.
13) I always wanted my little girl to have curly, brown hair. Unfortunately for her, she has straight, brown hair that looks like it has some random-not-so-cute waves (at least that is how mine are) throughout it. We will have to buy a straightener for her 2nd birthday. Poor kid.
14) When I found out I was having a boy (Kaden, obviously) I honestly prayed every night that he would have my eyes and Shane's lips. AND HE DOES!! (*joyful squeal*) I don't care who Lexi looks like, I just want her to be drop dead gorgeous and have the exact opposite life that I did in high school.
15) Lexi LOVES to kick! When she feels ANY emotion, she kicks. When she is zoning out and not even thinking about it, she unconsciously kicks her left leg (always her left) over and over.
16) Every time one of my kids wake up (no matter the time of day), I emphatically tell them, "GOOD MORNING!!!" I started this when Kaden was first born and have decided that it really sets the tone for their mood the rest of the day.
17) I am scared when dogs bark. I do love dogs, but when I see those pearly whites yelling at me in dog language, it freaks me out as I imagine those pearly whites sinking into my pasty white skin. If your dog doesn't bark, or gets over it fast, I will love them forever.
18) Speaking of dogs, both Shane and I are opposed to getting one...EVER. We were both raised with dogs, so you would think we would be more open to the idea, especially since Kaden LOVES them. Why not you ask? Hair, poop (seriously, I clean up two kids' poop all day, you think I want to add more into the mix?), smell, hair, cost when they get sick, hair, house training, hair, obedience training, and HAIR! The hair really grosses me out, can you tell? (Just when it is everywhere but on the dog). We will probably get Kaden a goldfish someday....
19) Before we had kids, Shane and I knew that they would someday need Acutane and braces. Poor kids....
20) Kaden is adorable.
21) Lexi is adorable.
22) Kaden has started doing the car "vrrrr" noises when he is playing with his cars. It is SO CUTE! He is so quiet about it so you really have to listen, but the fact that he is shy about it makes it that much cuter.
23) Someday I WILL have a cute home that a way overpriced interior designer....um...designs.
24) My kids are late teethers. Kaden didn't get his first teeth until he was 11 months old. Lexi is 6 1/2 months old and hasn't even started the signs of teething.
25) I love colors in homes. Blah white walls bug me and I start painting them in my head.
26) A lot of you already know, but for those who don't....Shane has Retinitis pigmentosa (RP). If you are like me before I met Shane and have no idea what that is, check it out here.
27) I don't think I will get to 100...I am boring myself just by doing this-can't imagine how you feel. Thanks to those of you who have hung on this long....
28) Charly (both the movie and the book) makes me cry...ok, bawl like a baby....every single time I watch it (or read the book). Especially since having kids (one of those a boy), my water works goes on overtime. Shane laughs at me since I should be immune to the movie/book after seeing/reading them SO many times. Dumb boys....
29) Kaden is following in his daddy's footsteps with being an electronic nerd. Kaden will go up to a keyboard, VERY gently put his hands on it, then start typing away like a madman. It is hilarious because his face will be so serious the entire time. I need to get a video of it eventually.
30) I love BBQ potato chips. Shane loves cheddar and sour cream. Kaden loves any chips you give him.
31) I like to joke around....a lot. People think I'm joking when I say that I draw like a five year old. I'm not. Sometime I will steal Kaden's crayons and draw my best masterpiece, then post it here for all to see that I am not lying. Maybe even a 3 year old......
32) As soon as Lexi is a year and a half old, we will take her and Kaden to Disneyland (or World, depending on finances) every year. They will live how I always wanted to as a kid.
33) Belle is the best Disney princess EVER. Why? She is the only one (when I was growing up) with brown hair---like ME! WOO!
34) Every morning, Kaden gets up and before breakfast or anything else, grabs his shoes, points to the door and says, "Owside?" One time it was raining (hard) and I took him out to show him he doesn't want to be outside when it is raining. It didn't work-he couldn't have cared less, as long as he is "owside."
35) Slow internet BUGS me. Since marrying Shane, my definition of "slow" is a lot faster than it used to be. If he wasn't so technologically gifted, I would probably still love the speed (snort) of dial up.
36) Shane and I watched every single episode of Prison Break. We were married for 6 months when it first came on TV. The previews looked interesting (not to mention there were a lot of hottie guys) and we were hooked. We also both hated the series finale episode. It was LAME.
37) Wow-not even halfway done...are you hanging in there?
38) I am horrible at scrap booking. I really try to be creative and have spent tons of money buying cute things to use, but it all stays in the packaging because I don't want to ruin my pictures or a perfectly good scrapbook.
39) Lexi will be crawling within the next 2 or 3 months. I am SO excited!! Babies are cute, but I prefer kids that MOVE! I love chasing Kaden around and can't wait until Lexi can run around, too.
40) Kids can start dance classes (meaning BALLET!) at 3 years old. Lexi will be enrolled and WILL love it! :) haha poor girl
41) I love banana cream pie! I had never had it until I met Shane (it is his fav), and now I am so in love with it!
42) I (along with the rest of the world) am in love with anything and everything Twilight related. Shane watched the movie and said it wasn't half bad. He is looking forward to New Moon (but not with gleeful excitement).
43) I look back at pictures of me in high school and have a greater appreciation for the one guy brave enough to date me.
44) Twitter is confusing.
45) Kaden loves standing on his tippy toes. He has some great calf muscles!
46) I have loose joints (which is good because I will never have arthritis, but bad because it has caused knee surgeries) and I think both Kaden and Lexi inherited the same issue.
47) I always joke that it took a blind man to marry me. :) (See #26 if this confuses you)
48) Shane hates when I talk about him on here (he says he feels dumb), so I try to do it at least once in every post. haha
49) Barbies were my favorite growing up-I think I had about 50. I used to cut their hair, then be mad when it wouldn't grow back. I don't think we will get Lexi any Barbies, though. These days Barbie has turned into a skank with a barely there wardrobe!
50) After Phantom of the Opera came out, I had a newfound love for Gerard Butler (then came P.S. I Love You and that cemented him in my heart).
51) Over halfway done! You're really still reading?! You are awesome...or bored...haha.
52) Kaden is the only boy grandchild on both sides of our families. Well, he and Lexi are the only grandchildren at all on Shane's side.
53) I love that Lexi will have a protective big brother (and father....and mother...).
54) A friend of mine from England always teases me that I am constantly using phrases like, "...the best EVER in the whole world!" I never realized it until he pointed it out one time when he was here visiting, but now I catch myself all the time saying, "Red Robin has the BEST fries in Utah!" or "you have to go here, they have the BEST milkshakes in the world!" I think I just don't see saying "Yeah their milkshakes are good" gets the point across. I am glad my friend finds it funny, because it has been bugging me. I am trying to stop, so if you catch me saying things like that....punch me.
55) The first 50 took me four days to come up with....let's see how fast I can do the last fifty.
56) Kaden is wearing a cute blue outfit right now. Lexi is wearing a pink shirt with blue trim and khaki shorts. (Random, remember?)
57) Miley Cyrus's song "The Climb" is the BEST EVER. (haha-did ya catch it?)
58) Lexi LOVES Kaden. I hope they will be best friends all their lives.
59) My 24th birthday is in 53 days!!
60) When Lexi graduates from high school, I will be 41 years old. Shane will be 43 (actually, he probably will have just turned 44). HAHA OLD man! (totally kidding-don't shoot me if you are over 40!)
61) I would love to get a professional camera. Not to turn into a business or anything, just so that it will take FAST pictures!
62) Kaden's teeth are very spaced apart on the top, but squished together on the bottom. Like I said, braces are in this kid's future.
63) The one time in my life I have been hit on (no joke), I had been married for a year. If you missed that story, click here.
64) Going along with #63, I was pretty much born with a foot in my mouth. I usually never mean to offend anyone (if you have an invite to my blog, then I really have never meant to offend you), so if I ever had said something offensive just know it's a condition with no cure. Often my mouth is down the freeway while my brain is still backing out of the garage. I think (hope) it's gotten a little better with old age, though.
65) Lexi had her ears pierced May 27th, 2009. (My little brother's 16th birthday-actually.)
66) I was never a Patrick Dempsey fan until Made of Honor and Enchanted came out. He is on my Top 10 list now.
67) My favorite thing to do after watching a movie is watch every. single. special feature on it. I love the behind the scenes and making of stuff and am obsessed with IMDB.
68) Kaden is not big on eating. He just has a lot of playing to squeeze into one day and eating takes time away from his precious playtime. I have learned that Kaden will eat more if a) I put some on his plate, then leave the room. He doesn't like to be watched I guess. and b) if I put some food off to the side on my own plate, he tries to sneakily (is that a word?) steal "my" food. He likes getting away with it since I don't let him get away with stealing anything else. :)
69) Kaden's hair grows fast! He has had more haircuts in the last year than I have in the last three. But we keep his hair a lot shorter than mine....haha.
70) Kaden wanted to type one: hkktghbjhjk489rej934mknsd6thjy fdjky kj (He likes pushing control and alt., which do weird things to the computer that I can't fix, so he doesn't get to type very long).
71) Kaden dances to the music at the end of every movie as the credits roll. Doesn't matter if it is slow or fast, he LOVES to shake his groove thang.
72) I think Ashton Kutcher is HILARIOUS in Open Season! I mean, I know it's the writers, but seriously, his delivery of those lines is perfect! "I'm a unihorn! Don't look at me! Don't look at me!" Lol If you haven't seen it-GO RENT IT!
73) Speaking of hilarious people, if you don't know who Brian Regan is, what hole have you been in? Click here for some laughs. :D P.S. We have all three of his movies and are always open to having a Brian Regan movie night if you live close to us.
74) Kaden always makes sure to do "knuckles" after giving a high five (you know, the fist hit thing). I was so excited to teach him this because I think it is adorable when little kids do this. Hence, me teaching him a 6 months old when he had no idea what was going on...lol.
75) Shane laughs at me when I use big words......like....hence.
76) Shane only laughs at me for using big words because he has no idea what they mean. (*Mwahahahaha* evil laughter)
77) You are over 3/4 of the way done! Holy cow! You are amazing for sticking through this. Even I want to give up!
78) More of these are about myself than I originally thought. Sorry about that.
79) I can't tan. Seriously-it's sad. I can burn to a crisp, then it will fade (not even peel) a couple of days later back to my pasty whiteness. I have pictures to prove it. Shane, of course, tans beautifully. I hope our kids have inherited his skin.
80) For those of you who keep asking, YES I am 23 and YES I really, truly am done having kids (barring some huge miracle). So, stop asking!!
81) Cookie Cutters is the BEST EVER haircuts for kids place. :D I tried another place closer called Snip It's, but they were awful!!! And now they just built a Cookie Cutters close to my house! Before I was driving 30 minutes, but now it's like 2!
82) I am running out of ideas, so I just asked Shane, "What is a random fact about you?" (He didn't know I am doing this) and he thought for a minute, then said, "I don't want to be a part of any blog crap." lol
83) If you haven't been with me (on the blog) from the beginning, here is my very first post. It's not that exciting (I was still learning the ropes), but the pictures after it on the next few posts are adorable!
84) I feel like I am always worried about something with my kids. I never wanted to be one of those parents who worries ALL the time, but I am. :( I just WORRY about my kids!!
85) I want to be the kind of mom my mom was and is.
86) Shane likes Sudoku and those Rubik's cubes. I hate them. I have no patience and get frustrated easily, then give up after two minutes. BO-RING!
87) Kaden's favorite thing is to be flipped around like a rag doll by his daddy.
88) Kaden used to be afraid of the lawnmower, so Shane held him while he mowed the front yard, then had Kaden hold his hand while they mowed the back yard together. Now he isn't sacred anymore! Woo!
89) 11 more random things to go!! YAY!
90) Um....really running out of things now.......
91) My dog growing up was a German Shepard/Black Lab mix. She was gorgeous and a great dog.
92) Shane likes saltine crackers with frosting on top. Ew.
93) I don't like root beer floats. Seriously. I usually just drink my root beer, then eat my ice cream after. I love both, but for some reason, not combined. It makes me gag.
94) If you have hung on this long, I will love you for always.
95) I have to hurry and get this post done because I have more posts to do that can't happen until AFTER this one. :)
96) I don't mind watching sports-except golf. I think golf is the single most boring thing (not a game or sport) in the whole wide world. I golfed at Pebble Beach in Monterrey, CA and I still think golf is boring. There are some gorgeous golf places, though! And I am a golf cart pro.
97) Shane went on his mission to British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. (Pretty sad when I have to resort to mission stuff.)
98) While Shane was on his mission, the first year I was graduating from high school, then second year I was in California.......um.......flirting with missionaries from Canada (ok, just one from Canada).
99) I am pretty sure Kaden thinks another one of his names is "handsome" and Lexi thinks her name is "sis" or "pretty girl."
100) I MADE IT!! WOO HOO!! And YOU made it! For the 100th one, I want you to comment on one random thing about YOU! Thanks for sticking through the whole entire thing!

WORST Mom EVER in the history of time

I have friends (you know who you are) who think accidentally locking their kids in the car for ten minutes (in the nice, spring weather) makes them bad moms. For those of you who think you are bad moms, I am about to pull out the ultimate trump card. Last week I decided that Kaden's need for the binky was really just my need for peace and quite during sacrament meetings and a quick way for him to fall asleep at night. I weaned him off of binkies and he did fairly well, minus the fact that he would take about five minutes to cry (really just whine) himself to sleep. Well, last night I put Kaden in bed, then went straight to bed myself because it had been a really long day of Kaden acting so ornery! Later, a couple of minutes after Shane came to bed, I heard Kaden crying. I figured he had heard Shane walk by (our stupid old floors squeak RIGHT in front of his bedroom) and woke up wanting to get up and/or wanting his binky. I listened to him cry for a couple of minutes, then he stopped. I told myself if he woke up crying again, I would go in and cuddle him for a second rather than give him back the binky. Let me insert something here: we keep his door closed until the morning (around 7:00 we open it, then he will wake up between 7:30-7:45). If we don't close his door at nights, he wakes up at 5 AM and decides it's time to PLAY! Well, he didn't wake up again until 6:30 this morning. I heard him and saw the clock and decided he probably had a nightmare. When I opened his door I was hit by a wave of the most rancid smell possible. He was sitting up in bed, and one side of his bed was covered in throw up!! Pillow, blankets, Puppy, him...all covered! That's right....I made my toddler sleep in his own puke ALL NIGHT. I felt horrible! He had a fever so we gave him milk (like every other morning) and he promptly threw it up. Needless to say, I was more hesitant to give him milk the rest of the day. Anyway, after trips to the doctor and the hospital for tests, we are still at square one. Meaning all of the tests came back negative (so no Swine Flu-most likely). His fever broke about mid-day thanks to me hounding him with drugs every three hours. He didn't throw up again the rest of the day (yay!) and even insisted on drinking some milk in the evening. (Literally-insisted meaning he opened the fridge and said "Nah" to everything (Sprite and Gatorade-which is normally his favorite ever), then climbed up on the shelves to reach his milk that I hadn't offered. He kept it down, but I didn't pour him much just in case. I am sure he got sick of being followed around all day and hearing "PUKE BUCKET!" every time he made a coughing/gagging noise that preceded the first throw up scene this morning. Anyway, seriously, what kind of mom doesn't even check on their kid when he is crying?! I know I suck and I feel SO bad. I am leaving Kaden's door open from now on-no matter what.
P.S. I was telling the nurses (two women and one man) what I had done and was letting them know how awful of a parent I am in case they wanted to call the state or something on me, and the guy nurse said, "Y'know, if you were the ONLY mom who'd ever done that, then MAYBE you would be a bad mom....., but you are not even CLOSE!" It made me feel better for a half a second, then I thought about poor Kaden and his horrible mom who makes him sleep in puke.

Quotes

Lately I have been wanting to share with you guys (both of you...haha) some of the random things Shane says...enjoy!

Background on this one: Shane and I gave each other a book to read that we had to finish. He gave me some ultra boring financial self help book that he loves, so I gave him a very sappy Anita Stansfield book that I love. He has seen Twilight, or you can bet I would have made him read it...lol. So, when Shane was in the middle of the Anita Stansfield book, he stopped, looked at me and said:

Shane: Wow-this book is nothing like real life.
Me: What do you mean?
Shane: Well, this girl is an idiot! Not only does she second guess herself, but also everyone and everything around her!! She thinks WAY too much and it is always about the most negative outcome, then she doesn't even give the guy a chance to talk, she just thinks she knows what he will say or how he will act, and she is always WRONG! She makes every situation harder than it is when she doesn't need to!
Me (slightly stunned): Shane, you understand women!!!!!

Another time when I was painting my toenails:
Shane: Let me get this straight....you take off perfectly good nail polish just to put MORE on??

Before going to get my nails done professionally:
Shane: You're cutting your naturally long, beautiful nails to go pay to have long, fake nails that don't even look natural??

And my all time favorite:
Shane: How can you NOT like to talk about finances?!

LOL-maybe he doesn't understand women as well as I had thought. :) Love you hon!

Happy Dad's Day!

I just wanted to tell Shane how much I love him and what a truly amazing dad and husband he is. He has always been there for me and the kids and can make any and all of us laugh at any given moment. He is a wonderful and caring dad and I know that our kids love him almost as much as I do. Happy father's day babe! MWAH!
(P.S. I totally love Kaden's face in this picture. Shane had treats to bribe him to be good and here he was caught chewing one...haha.)

This video is kind of old, but Shane and Kaden still play this same way ALL the time. It is adorable! Enjoy!

Fun weekend!

This past Friday was Shane's work's Lagoon day. We decided Lexi wouldn't enjoy it much, so we called on her second mom (thanks Kelly!) to watch her while we took Kaden out for a fun day! It was the first sunny day in a week and Lagoon was PACKED! Kaden was still too short to ride anything except the carousel and the train (big sarcastic "yippy"). Kaden's favorite part of the entire day was when we were eating dinner with Shane's coworkers because he got to run around on the grass. Yup, $8 for parking and we could have taken him to the park for free and he would have had more fun.
Kaden enjoyed people watching. Well, mainly the kids-not so much the adults. :)

On the train...Daddy is having fun, but Kaden is still kid watching.

This was the best pic we could get on the carousel. Our camera is too slow for anything except blurry pictures. Notice Kaden clinging to my arm for dear life.... :)

Saturday, we went to the zoo with Shane's family. I was really worried because of the rainy weather, but it turned out to be a perfect day for it. It was overcast, then sprinkled lightly for a few minutes (during which I changed diapers, so no big deal), then it was beautiful. Ten minutes after we left, however, it starting POURING. We were so glad we had decided to leave when we did! Here are lots of pics because you know I love to post 'em!
The elephant-my all time fav!

Lexi had a blast! I think she was just glad that we didn't leave her behind again. :)

Kaden did NOT like the big, fake elephant. When it would make noises, he pretty much freaked out. So, of course, like any good parents, we got a picture of it. :)

Rhino...our camera is not that dirty-this was through the window of the little zoo underground thingy place.

Yay for double strollers!

What Utes eat for breakfast...

Lexi still having a grand 'ole time

His face looked cute, but the claws did NOT.

Family pic!

And, of course, Kaden just wanted to run around and didn't care about the animals.

As much as we tried, this was the closest we could get Kaden to the "measure up" sign.

Kaden wouldn't hold still during lunch and was climbing all over the chairs. He fell down twice and hit the same spot on his legs, twice. Here he is showing off his battle wound.

And, of course, Kaden's favorite part: the playground!

Lexi sliding with some help from Dad.

Kaden was unsure of the teeter-totter at first, but then we couldn't get him off the dang thing!

Lexi and Grandpa Porter-so tired. Lexi was pretty pooped, too. :)

When you're little, all the world is a bench. :)

After the zoo, we went to Leatherby's (an ice cream place) that my uncle and aunt recommended (more like demanded we try...haha). It was SO GOOD! Better than Coldstone! We also went on the train at the zoo, but couldn't get any good pics with all of us in it. Anyway, it was a great day and a great weekend!

Stats!

Lexi had her 6 month appt today! Everything is looking great and she impressed the doctor with how smart she is. :) For those of you who care, her stats are:

Height: 25.2 inches (50%)
Weight: 14.8 (25%)
Head: Just under the 50%

So, she is perfectly proportioned! :) The doctor called her precocious, which I had no idea what that meant, but there was no way I would admit that to the doctor. I looked it up when I got home and it says, "exceptionally smart, ahead of age in understanding." Yay! The reason why she (the doc) said that was for a few reasons. 1) Lexi was in my lap and turned, looked up at me and said, "Hi!" Doc was surprised that a 6 month old said that. I wasn't because Lexi has been saying that for the last 2 months. 2) While Doc was talking, she was very animated with her hands. Lexi copied EVERY SINGLE arm and hand movement the doc did. Doc noticed this after a while and was shocked that Lexi was copying her every move. and 3) As Doc was leaving the room, she waved bye to Lexi....well, Lexi waved back. At this point, no one was more shocked than me! That's when doc was pretty stunned, called Lexi precocious, then told the other nurses to get in here and check this baby out. Lexi was only too pleased to show off for everyone else, too. :) Personally, I think she is just doing whatever she can do get some attention from the whole world. ;)

Happy 6 month birthday!

Alexandria is six months old today!! Time has flown by and we have been loving every minute of her. :) She doesn't have her six month appointment until Monday (so no new stats until then), but I wanted to let you know what she is up to these days! Lexi can sit up all by herself for about five seconds (that is the longest she has made it, but we work on it every day). She rolls over from her front to her back easily (goodbye tummy time!), and a couple of days ago she just rolled over from her back to her front! She was having a hard time getting up over her cute little shoulder, but she made it! Lexi is incredibly easy to make smile (unless you have a camera, then she still gives that "deer in the headlights" look because of the stupid flash)-all she requires is someone looking at her and she will freely give you smiles. She loves to dance and/or be sung to. She loves to talk (I have NO idea where she would get that from....) and will even just open and close her mouth with no sound coming out just to look like she is talking. :) Her favorite person in the whole wide world is Kaden. Seriously, even I can't make her laugh as easily as he does. She moves around the house a LOT! She kicks and rolls and scoots and is trying so hard to keep up with big brother. :) She likes baby cereal when you add applesauce and we have yet to try real baby food with her, but that will be this weekend so I will let you know how that goes! Hopefully she is the opposite of Kaden and is a little piggy! :) I would LOVE a child that loves to eat! She still fits into 0-3 month onesies, but I put them all into storage since she is now officially six months old and it is pretty sad that she fits into clothes not meant for her. She is in 3-6 month clothes and will be for a while (unless there is a huge growth spurt). Her feet are still incredibly small and her newborn shoes are just now starting to fit. See how she's grown....
Alexandria Jo-one week old

6 months old!!

I had to post this pic of her smiling. She loves my sister's exersaucer! (Thanks Suz!)

She even naps in it! Haha....when you're tired, you're tired, y'know? :)

Oh, yeah, on May 27th we had Lexi's ears pierced!! I was worried about how she would look with them, but she looks adorable! She did just fine when the lady pierced her ears, even better than she does with shots (which made me feel less guilty). Her ears are pretty flat against her head, so you can't get a good frontal pic of both earrings...
See what I mean? Cute little face and a bit of the ears, but not enough....so you get this:

TA-DA! What do you think? I forgot that you couldn't change the earrings at ALL for at least six weeks (I just thought she always had to be wearing some, but not the same ones). So, when the six weeks is up, we will for sure get her some cuter ones that sparkle. :)

Love Thy Neighbor..........seriously?!

Apparently when the Lord said to Love thy neighbor, He hadn't met mine yet. To our right we have the world's most ornery Chinese man. He is out in his yard EVERY DAY and he actually called Ogden City and complained that we hadn't mowed the lawn in a week!! In my defense, let me say this: a) We had just moved in and didn't own a lawnmower, so when we bought one, Shane DID mow the lawn, but apparently it wasn't on the shortest setting and this lawn hasn't been taken care of in over a year and a half, so yes, it was on the longer side (but not nearly as bad as when we first moved in).....and b) the city people came and checked on a Thursday morning (we got the notice on a Monday)-how do I know it was in the morning that they checked? Because if they had waited until later in the day, the stupid lawn would have been mowed!! Shane got home at 2:00 that day and mowed right away because he knew how long the lawn was! ALSO, when the city people were looking at our luscious yard, they noticed that we didn't have the house numbers on the actual house (the previous owners put up this weird, totally random, very short wood fence thing in front of the steps to the front door-and that is where the #'s are). So, we received a notice saying that we have 9 days to fix all of this (and the numbers have to be ON the house and you have to be able to see them from 150 feet away!) or else we get like a $500 fine PER DAY until we comply. Seriously?! They lectured us about taking pride in our yard and also in Ogden (again-seriously?! take PRIDE in OGDEN??!!). So, that is only one neighbor. The ones to our left (besides having three of the loudest, most yippy dogs in the history of the world--and they don't do anything to stop them), have decided that 11:00 PM is the best time to work in their shed/garage (which is right next to Kaden's bedroom) with a machine that sounds like metal cutting metal-like the wicked witch of the west screeching as she dies. VERY loud and VERY late. They did this ALL weekend! I know I should go say something to them about it, but I don't enjoy being eaten by dogs, so I will stay away....for now. And to finish up with our wonderful neighbors, the ones across the street from us made this totally redneck, extremely loud scooter that their teenager HAS to drive up and down the street ALL day, over and over! They must think it is going to die at any second so he has to stay within walking distance of the house or something. AHHH!!! I know we are supposed to love "everyone", but couldn't "everyone" make it easier to love them?!

Summer lovin'-had me a blast...

I LOVE good weather!! We have been having so much fun outside (even though I can't tan, so you'd never guess I have spent so much time outside...). Weber State has a duck pond and it is a little over a mile away. So, we walked there with my new-to-me double stroller and (once again) drug Kelly and Liz along. It is all uphill on the way there (killer in the heat!), but it makes it nice on the way back. I know I always do tons of pictures, and this post isn't any different....so enjoy! There were a lot of baby ducks there that were SO cute! This picture doesn't do them justice, but, trust me, they were adorable. :)

Liz and Kaden feeding the ducks...well, more just watching them.

I hope you are laughing hard as you look at this picture. :D Yes, Liz is eating the stale bread for the ducks, and yes, Kaden is standing like a 9 month pregnant woman....and no, that is not his first time doing that....
Here is another time I caught him on camera standing like this. Notice what his left foot is doing...hahaha.

Kelly, Liz, and Kaden watching a seagull get attacked by a protective mama duck (it was pretty funny).

Liz's cute outfit...she totally looks like she is talking on a phone. :)

Lexi hanging out at the duck pond.

Both my mom, her sister (since they are twins, this makes sense) and my little brother's birthdays were all the last week of May. This next pic is when we were at my dad's celebrating my little bro's birthday.....my little sis claimed she has gray eyes, so my older sis and I were trying to show her that her eyes are the same as ours.

Me (23 years old), Natalie (17 years old-holy cow!), Suzanna (I don't know if she wants me to list her age...she just had a birthday and is getting up there....hahaha, but she is 15 months older than me, so do the math.).

The next day, Saturday, we went swimming with the Colton's and my cousin Jessica and her little girl, Sophie, at the Clearfield pool. This was Lexi's first time swimming and she mostly loved it! She was dunked...um...a few times (*innocent smile*) but did really well!

Notice how I make Kelly hold my kid so that I can avoid the camera? Haha

My cousin Jessica and Sophie just after going on the huge slide there.

Kaden did not enjoy swimming at all. We will have to keep taking him to get him used to it again. Here is Shane trying to turn Kaden's lips back to their normal color, rather than blue.

What do an hour of swimming, a hot shower, and a full belly equal??? A GREAT nap and one happy little baby!

You want to see Lexi get dunked? Me, too:

Liz came over to play yesterday and I had the kids go outside and "paint." What I did was filled a huge bowl with water, then gave them paintbrushes, and let them go to town!
They loved it so much! This will definitely be a repeat activity, although I would suggest putting them in swimming suits first next time. :)
It was really sunny and hot, so I moved them into the shade on the other side of our fence and kept a really close eye on them.

Lexi in Kaden's hat (I really need to get her a cute pink one) and a bib (since she had just eaten). She enjoyed the shade more than the hot sun.

Kaden and Liz in the shade. Yes, they are both soaking wet....haha, but they had so much fun doing it!
